"The Lightning Rods"

피뢰침이라는, 한 번 쯤은 들어보았을 이름을 가진 '침'이 있다.
이 '침'은 빌딩의 옥상에 세워져 있는데, 멀리서 보면 아주 첨예한 끝매무새를 보인다.
피뢰침이 하는 일은, 빌딩의 가장 높은 곳에 서서 쏟아지는 낙뢰를 땅으로 전달하는 역할을 한다.
이 생소한 역할 덕분에 현대의 빌딩들이 낙뢰에 불타거나 부서지지 않는 것이다.
처음으로 피뢰침이 하는 일을 알았을 때, 이 얼마나 숭고하고 아름다운 일인지 생각 해 보았다.
낙뢰로부터 건물을 보호하기 위해 가장 높은 곳에 홀로 서서 그 낙뢰를 버티어 낸다니.
나를 위해 헌신하고 수고하는, 나의 가장 사랑하는 사람처럼 그러하다.

There is a Lightning Rod, the 'needle' that you might heard least more than once.
This 'needle' usually stands on the top of the building's roof, It has very sharp endshape.
This Lightning Rod does deliver lightning from sky to bottom.
The modern buildings can be protected from the fire and destruction because of this delivery.
First time when I heard about this Lightning Rod, I thought about its noble role.
It just stands there, and bear the lightning on its own. Only to protect the building.
It does same with my adorable one, who is always dedicated to me.
